PLATFORM....

What's my platform? What do I want to change? These are questions I get asked regularly since announcing my decision to run for council. My honest answer — and I know some people dislike this — is that there isn't one definitive answer to either question. It feels irresponsible to promise specific outcomes when I'll be one of seven votes. What I can promise is how I'll use that vote: I will be an honest, bold voice in every decision. I'm not afraid to ask hard questions or have hard conversations. I'm always open to honest discussion, to changing my mind when presented with valid facts, and I'm never afraid to fight for what I believe is right. I'm running for the same reason I've stated from the start: I love Vernon, and I want to see it thriving for all residents — now and decades to come. I hope to be part of a diverse council of new and experienced voices, united by a common passion for our community and a shared commitment to accountability, transparency, and thoughtful progress. Some of the areas I worry about and hope to improve are mentioned in the 'MY WHY' section of this website and include things I think most of us worry about....the cost of living and having enough housing for our residents, petty and serious crimes downtown and throughout the entire city and surrounding areas, forest fire season and how we can be better prepared and be proactive instead of reactive, finding solutions to prevent future water restrictions like we have faced in 2026, having affordable and accessible recreation services for Children, seniors, and all residents, maintaining thriving trails, parks & ecosystems, supporting tourism.... I truly want to be part of improvement in any and all areas of our community and that is why I am running for Vernon City Council.
