COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT...

I’m incredibly proud of the work I’ve been part of—and even more grateful to be surrounded by such an amazing community of people who understand that giving your time and helping your neighbour is the easiest way to build a strong community.

My community involvement includes:

* Being named JCI Vernon’s New Member of the Year in 2012 and Member of the Year in 2015 as well as receiving The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce Top 20 Under 40 Award in 2018, 2024 Community Hero Award Presented by Vernon Vipers 

* Serving on the boards of organizations such as JCI Vernon, the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life events in B.C. and Alberta, the Vernon Winter Carnival, and Teens Count Too, among others

* Co-chairing the 2015 JCI Hospital Gala in support of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation, where we raised a record amount of funds

* Being the top fundraiser, alongside my dance partner, for the 2018 Dancing with the Vernon Stars in support of the North Okanagan Hospice Society

* Serving on my son’s elementary school PAC, organizing and supporting a variety of successful fundraisers and continuing to volunteer at his school in a variety of capacities

* Volunteering with organizations and events such as the Archway Society for Domestic Peace, the B.C. Winter Games, Sweet Smiles Society, Funtastic, Salvation Army Kettle Campaign, and the Canadian Mental Health Association

* Hosting a variety of Fundraiser events for community members needing a hand up 

* Currently serving as the Head Judge for NOCLS’s Golden Burger Challenge Fundraiser, taking place this October

Giving back to the community is something that brings me so much happiness. I truly believe that creating the best community possible starts with all of us lending a helping hand—wherever and however we can.
